Woman owned Michelin starred Parachute in Chicago is led by Beverly Kim. Kim is a working mom so has first hand experience of the challenges mothers face in the restaurant industry. To help provide work life balance she gives staff flexibility in working hours, has snack stations in the restaurant, and provides healthcare, disability leave and paid time off. She also makes family meals mandatory to ensure everyone has a meal before their shift. A great example of little ways a restaurant can support all staff to improve the industry culture.
